La geoingeniería solar y la fertilización oceánica son dos de los aspectos más peligrosos de esta ciencia, ya que mediante la introducción de grandes cantidades de elementos como el hierro, el azufre y otros más a la atmosfera y el océano se pretende contrarrestar los efectos nocivos atribuidos al cambio climático, especialmente el calentamiento global.
Al mismo tiempo que añaden nuevos riesgos, estas tecnologías pueden empeorar algunos de los problemas ya existentes como son: Sequias, inundaciones, destrucción de la capa de ozono, la acidificación del océano, contaminación ambiental, etc. Todos estos efectos a su vez incrementan la gran presión que amenaza a la biodiversidad planetaria, las cadenas alimenticias y la salud humana. Otros de los problemas graves son el mal manejo, las malas intenciones y el potencial uso militar. Es importante mantenerse informado y objetar a esta peligrosa ciencia.

Solar geoengineering and ocean fertilization are two of the most dangerous aspects of this science, that with the insertion of great quantities of iron,sulfur or other compounds into the atmosphere and ocean, seeks to counter the damaging effects attributed to climate change, specially global warming.
While introducing new risks these technologies also exacerbate some of the already existing problems, like: Droughts, flooding, ozone depletion, ocean acidification, environmental pollution, etc. These side effects in turn increase the great pressure already threatening the planetary biodiversity, food chains and human health. Other, rather large, problems are: bad management, bad intentions and the potential for military use. It is important to keep informed and strongly challenge this dangerous science.
